This painting was commissioned for a family who wanted their yellow home to be surrounded by various local, iconic “Queenslander” style houses.

The piece also includes the children’s 150 year old Bulimba State School, 2 local churches, the well known Riverbend Book Shop, Bulimba House, Brisbane Powerhouse and both the Bulimba and Hawthorne Ferry Terminals.

The children play in a large fig tree alongside their local soccer field grandstand in Memorial Park Bulimba.

School uniforms hang on the clothesline under the window of their house.

The family love the confetti-like display that Jacaranda and Ponciana trees give to Brisbane at certain times of the year.

This painting was chosen as the artwork to promote The Bulimba Festival 2015.

Our family and friends commissioned Debra to paint a special gift for my Mother in Law’s 80th birthday almost 6 years ago.
Alma has lived in Bulimba all her life and we chose Debra to paint a personal keepsake with buildings of special significance to our family.

A few years ago I noticed the most beautiful art works being displayed in some of the local Bulimba establishments, and was so delighted by them. These paintings captured the beauty of the Bulimba area, and the iconic local buildings.
For a special birthday I asked Debra for a painting of my own house. She incorporated all of the Bulimba spots that were of importance to myself and to my family,  the cricket grandstand, ferry house, and my favourite  local independent bookstore.
I have lived in the Bulimba area all of my life , and I attended the local school, as did my four children so Debra also included  the Bulimba school .
Debra painted the most beautiful art work and consulted with me on what was most important to capture. This art work has pride of place in my home. Debra even painted my daughters cat resting on our front deck.
Debras paintings  are so special and are marvellous keepsakes.

How can I order my own personalized cityscape painting?
To order a personalised painting just follow these simple steps:-
1) Choose the size canvas you’d like from the Pricelist above.
2) Email Debra with your request and she will let you know the next time-slot available.
3) Debra will email you an Agreement Form to complete. This form just confirms the size,price and your contact details.
4) Pay a 20% Deposit  (Debra will let you know the banking details)
5) Have fun thinking about all the bits and pieces you would like to have in your artwork!
How long is the wait time for a commissioned painting?

The next available opportunity is Jan 2023.

What sort of things can I request to put in my commissioned painting?
Anything! Whatever has a special place in your families life besides particular houses and buildings.
Some clients include, sports uniforms, boats, children, special trees, an elephant, cars,past and present pets.
For example, a pet turtle being walked to school by the client’s children is in one painting!
Even if you think it impossible to imagine putting something into your picture, talk to Debra….Artistic licence, imagination and symbolism work well together!
The price list above only specifies square sized canvases. What if I want a price for a rectangular painting?
Other sizes can be custom made, please contact Debra to discuss options.
How long will my painting take to be completed?
On average, commissioned paintings take about 6 weeks to complete.
Will I need to frame my painting?
No, your painting will be ready to hang.  The painted image is continued around the 40mm deep edge of the canvas.
What about delivery?
Debra will deliver your artwork within 50km of the Brisbane CBD.  For other areas please contact Debra.
Can I commission a painting other than a Cityscape?
Yes, clients have also commissioned Still Life paintings that have a personalised and unique content.
