Brisbane CBD Blocks

Brisbane CBD Blocks by Debra Hood

Brisbane CBD Blocks focuses on the top floors of many Brisbane buildings and their designs and patterns that we instantly recognise. Others are not so iconic, however, whilst they live in the shadows of their more famous peers, their presence and character are equally inspirational.

The grid pattern in this work suggests the block pattern of Brisbane’s CBD streets and the colour of the background is to evoke a feeling of strength and industry – much like massive steel girders and beams that underpin the cities existence… slightly rusted metal, holding its form to control the chaos.
