Sherwood Arboretum (2024)

Sherwood Arboretum (2024) by Debra Hood

"Sherwood Arboretum" is a vibrant and lively representation of the Heritage-Listed Sherwood Arboretum in Brisbane, capturing the essence of the local architecture and natural beauty. The Queenslander style houses stand gracefully along the riverbank, adorned in pastel hues that evoke a sense of warmth and charm.

Sherwood Arboretum was opened on World Forestry Day in 1925, and is home to roughly 1100 trees, across 250 native species. Some of these species are captured in this painting, including Bottle trees, Gum trees, and Bunya Pines, while Debra’s classic confetti celebration dances above the canopy.
